At FUMC, our focus is to provide a safe place for our teenagers to worship, hang out and grow in their spiritual life.  Our goal is to nurture teens as they  develop a strong, supportive faith, and become committed followers of Christ. The qualities they learn through youth ministry empower them to be in ministry with, and to, other youth and our world.

FUMC provides a variety of ministry opportunities for Junior and Senior High age youth to accomplish that goal. Our weekly schedule provides a multitude of learning activities for students, as well as a chance for youth to build a community. We also provide retreats, mission projects, and fellowship programs.

Weekly Youth Events

Sunday School
For the 2009-2010 School Year our Sunday School lessons will focus on looking back at confirmation classes. Called Recon, which is short for reconfirmation, youth Sunday School meets from 9:45-10:30 every Sunday in the Youth Media Room, adjacent to Fellowship Hall.

Peer Passion is all about you and your peers. Connect first and foremost with our Creator but also with each other, developing a passion for those we come in contact with the most. Every Sunday from 5:30 to 7:30.

Accountability
Youth are encouraged with the help of their peers to push themselves our of their comfort zone and to develop a stronger, more viable faith. Accountability meets every Sunday from 7:30 to 8:00 p.m.

Bible Study
Youth dig into God’s word with intensity. There are two options High Definition (HD) and Standard Definition (SD). HD is an hour of in depth study, where SD is a mixture of fun and focus. Come to one or both.

Every Wednesday HD from 6 to 7 and SD from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m..

Throughout the year our youth participate in a variety of events including:

Jr. and Sr. Mission Trips
A week of building God’s Kingdom by providing for His people.

Youth Week
A week of service and fun with friends.

Godly Man, Godly Woman Weekend
A special time of learning about relationships through God’s design.

Get Lost Weekend
A retreat designed to create passion for worship.

Mid-Winter
An escape from the ordinary at Glen Lake Camp.

Conquer
Youth learn how to effectively reach out and talk about Christianity to other teens.

Acquire the Fire
Huge rally and concert.
